How does a farmer get biomass to 1881 Extraction Co.?
Farmers can ship product via a common carrier. We suggest packaging the material dry and placing it in 2-ton mesh totes, and ship. Include the license number for the farm. We’ll provide our processing license to you so that you can include it with your shipping documentation.
Does the biomass need to be dry?
Because 1881 Extraction Co charges by the input pound, it makes sense for you to keep your product as dry as possible and debris free. The farm should also remove sticks and stems as much as possible as they do not increase the yield of oil.
Why charge per input pound rather than output oil mass?
Charging by input pound keeps prices down for our farmers. If we charge by oil mass output, then we need to know what the oil content is before we start – determine how many sticks and stems there are, how much water is in the material, and any foreign matter in the material. Charging by input mass help keeps the process simpler.
How does 1881 Extraction Co. receive materials?
After receiving materials, 1881 Extraction co weighs the biomass and compares it to the shipping manifest. If a discrepancy of more than 20 pounds is discovered, we will notify the farmer. Once the mass is confirmed to be accurate, we need to receive a down payment (50%) from the farmer for the first 10,000 pounds – we will process 10,000 pounds at a time.

Note: We do not accept moldy, putrid, or otherwise rotting plant matter.

How much oil should I expect from the biomass?
In the broadest terms, the weight of the shipment multiplied by the cannabinoid percentage (w/w) is give you’re a good estimate for the weight of the oil the farmer will receive.
How do I know 1881 Extraction Co. obtained 100% recovery of the oil?
Each 10,000 pounds of raffinate is sampled three times and the potency is measured for acids and neutrals. If the potency is greater than 3% w/w, 1881 Extraction Co will re-run the material automatically.
Does 1881 Extraction Co. ship oil to Canada?
Unfortunately, we do not ship to Canada, but we can receive shipments from Canada and the farmer can receive materials in the USA.
How does 1881 Extraction Co. ship the resulting oil?
Oil is shipped through a common carrier in leak proof 5-gallon buckets. The buckets are sealed and labeled.
What’s 1881 Extraction Co.’s return policy?
No returns are accepted. All sales are final.
Does 1881 Extraction Co. have customer service?
Absolutely! Our customer service representatives are available to answer your questions.
